The daycare center Kinderhaus Am Grasholz is located on the outskirts of the municipality of Rottendorf in Bavaria in the immediate vicinity of a new development area, sports field, forest and nature. Due to the ongoing densification in the town and a new large development area, there was a considerable need for additional childcare places in Rottendorf. The new Am Grasholz daycare center increased the number of childcare places in the municipality by a good third. Since September 1, 2022, children from toddler to primary school age have been enjoying the generous space on offer at the modern facility.
The aesthetically pleasing building radiates a warm, child-friendly atmosphere thanks to its stylish, harmonious design both inside and out. The spacious outdoor area offers the children plenty of room for movement and development. The daycare center is mostly attended by local children between the ages of one and ten.
The pedagogy of Maria Montessori and an open concept provide the children at the Kinderhaus Am Grasholz with plenty of space for freedom and development. The children should enjoy trying out their physical skills, improving their dexterity, developing body awareness, practicing gross and fine motor skills and living out their own urge to move. The teachers motivate each child to be active during sports, walks, in the house and in the garden.
Varied play areas
The outdoor play areas are divided into two sections: an adventure playground for children aged 3 to 10 and a crawling and toddler area for children under the age of 3.
The eibe paradiso play unit is located in the middle of a spacious, organically designed sand play area. Here the little ones can make their first attempts at climbing and experience a mini slide. They learn balance and coordination and gain important physical experience. The play balustrades awaken the little ones' curiosity with moving sensory elements and promote fine motor skills. There is a bench with a peephole on the play equipment's roofed platform for a little play break in between. Well protected by the roof on the equipment and a large awning, which shades a large part of the area around the play equipment, the children are also protected on sunny and hot summer days. Right next door, the little ones gurgle with delight in the minimondo nest swing and the first play stories are created together in the wicker tepee.
Almost as if they were in the great outdoors, the adventure playground is the perfect place for nursery children to climb, run and slide. The play landscape impresses with two play hills, numerous rocks, rich planting, the flooring made of wood chips and the paradiso brand play equipment made of naturally grown robinia wood. The design of the area is reminiscent of a miniature mountain world. In addition to the play hill with access ramp, climbing net and slope slide, the small playground hill opposite is the source of the playground's own spring in the form of a water-dispensing mushroom made of stainless steel. From here, the playground stream flows down a slope over boulders into its sandy bed. As in a real mountain landscape, the valley between the two hills is spanned by a bridge - in the hill landscape of the Grasholz nursery in the form of a fun wobbly bridge. In the lovingly designed playground world, the children can develop their very own play ideas, whether in active role play, a climbing and sliding rally, relaxing on the swings, playing quietly in the playhouse or letting off steam. Naturally, sun protection has also been provided in this area. Both playground hills are covered by large awnings. Carved animal figures scattered around the site keep the children company as they play imaginatively.
